What is Tapestry?

Confusingly, in the UK, when it comes to stitching, Tapestry does not mean those wall hangings you see in castles! It actually means Needlepoint. This is where a design is printed onto a canvas with holes and you simply use the correct coloured thread to fill in the holes - much like painting by numbers.

The Tapestries you see in castles are actually woven fabrics, where the coloured threads are used to make the fabric itself. Even more confusing, the most famous Tapestry, "The Bayeux Tapestry", isn't actually a Tapestry at all, it is an embroidered cloth!

What is Cross-Stitch?

Similar to Tapestry, Cross-Stitching is performed with a regularly threaded piece of fabric (such as linen), or canvas, but instead of the design being printed onto the material, a reference guide on a piece of paper is used.

You can stitch on Evenweave or Linen, but this is somewhat tricker, as you have to count the threads in the fabric. Aida is a special time of fabric that has regular holes.

Do you deliver outside of the UK?

We are currently working on it. In the meantime there are some very good "Forwarding Companies" who can forward your order from a UK address to many places around the world. (e.g. AddressPal, Forward2me, Reship and many more - use of such services is at customer's own risk, and if a return is wished, customer is responsible for costs incurred.)

How much do you charge for delivery?

Delivery is free for all orders within UK. Prices for other countries are shown at the checkout.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery times are shown on the product description pages and can vary for some products. The majority of items are sent on a tracked 24 hour service.

Do you deliver to the Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey)?

Yes we do, and delivery is free. Just select "Jersey" or "Guernsey" as your shipping country when you checkout.

VAT can also be removed - please contact us after you have ordered.

What do I do if a product is faulty?

Please contact us if your order is damaged or faulty and we will arrange a replacement or refund. Please email as soon as possible.

What do I do if I don't like the product?

If for any reason you don't like the product you receive, send it back and we will refund the sale price as long as the items are returned in good condition. Please return the product with its original packaging.

What payment methods can I use to pay?

We accept all major credit cards and PayPal. You can also pay via bank transfer or cheque.

What do you do with my order details?

We do not store your card details, they are simply used to pay for your order. In fact, we never see your credit card details! They are securely transferred with industry standard encryption. We store your contact details securely on a database for future reference but we do not pass these details on to any third parties! We will only email you if there is a query or problem with your order eg address problems.
